Dubbed the Queen of Las Vegas, Loletha Elayne (Elaine) Falana dazzled crowds with her vocal talent, energetic choreography, stage presence and last but not least LOOKS on LOOKS on LOOKS!
Born in Camden, New Jersey the performer went from dancing in nightclubs at the age of 16 under her mother’s supervision to developing a successful career on Broadway, television, and music with the help of Sammy Davis Jr. After releasing a disco track and returning to musical performances in 1975, she shut down Vegas with sold out shows during her residency and eventually raking in $100,000 a week performing at Aladdin.
Like many of the divas of her time, she rocked over the top looks designed by the legendary Bob Mackie. From jewel encrusted skin tone bodysuits to voluminous gowns in vibrants colors, Lola ‘s wardrobe highlighted her movement and made her appear larger than life.
